The swelling is usually just due to itching.
And the itching, swelling, pain, are basically the recipe for yeast infections and BV's.elp
And that's good, I hope she took it well.
If this experience has helped opened your eyes to the effects of unprotected sex, then maybe you should also try and discuss with her about getting birth control.
Birth control also has many other benefits besides pregnancy protection. They can also help protect from STDs and STIs, less pain from period cramps, shorten and lessen your periods, lessen fatigue during your period, help with mood swings during your period, and help keep it regular.
So there are MANY reasons why young women would want to use birth control besides protection during sex.

I'm like 99.9% sure it's just a yeast infection or BV.
If you're stressing that it might be a STD or STI, I highly doubt it.

You're very welcome! :)
It was hard for me to deal with too because of my parents not finding out. So I've been there.
Feel free to add me or msg me if there's anything else I might be able to help you with!

If they do ask it, you can just say no.
They will still prescribe the antibiotics if they find that you have BV.
