If it's menopause, you'll need a fan. This vitamin D stuff can be as much of a roller coaster as menopause itself. My levels fluctuate and right now it feels as if I'm starting over again trying to get them to rise and experiencing symptoms or side effects....Good luck!!!
Thanks Phyllis. I will see what my new levels are after getting new blood test this Friday and if it has increased maybe I will reduce the supplement. There is no way I will stop taking it until I have given myself enough time to know if it will work for me and if my problem is actually vit d or something else. I know a lot of people here say it can take several months before recovery happens so I will try and be patient. I'll just have to buy a fan!!
When I was given very high doses of D2 (50,000 IUs) I experienced flushing and palpitations among other symptoms. (I'd already gone through menopause so I knew it wasn't that). However, it's difficult to know whether it's due to menopause or D and probably the only way you could figure it out would be to reduce your d dose and see if the hot flashes go away but I don't know if that's a good idea.
