So glad I have a clue!

Hello!  I'm posting here because I've been reading a lot of the posts and feeling such relief that I'm not the only person feeling how I feel.  So here's what's going on with me.  I was diagnosed with Grave's disease when I was 19, so I've always dealt with some degree of fatigue.  I had radioactive iodine and am on replacement therapy.  Anyway, I didn't notice the fatigue and depression creeping on because of my thyroid issue.  However, a few months ago, I developed other symptoms like some dizzy feelings, muscle aches, headaches, numbness and tingling feelings, brain fog.  I realized some of them have been coming on slowly.  I used to write fiction constantly, but in the past year and a half, have not had the focus to do so.  I think my body's been lacking D for a long time and the recent uptick of symptoms is my body's way of giving out under the stress of it.

Anyway, I finally went to the dr on my new insurance last week and he added the VDD test without me even knowing it.  The result said my level was 4.2!  Which I understand now is quite low.  He's got me taking the 50,000 unit tablet once a week and retesting in 12 weeks.  I'm also getting a CT soon to rule out brain issues and my other bloodwork is normal (including my thyroid, thankfully).  I hope it works.  I don't mind the pain as much as I do the lack of focus and depression.  I want to feel normal again!  I'm glad I found a group of first person experiences to read.

It's more awful than the doctors let on, I think.  My ct came back normal, so that's a relief.  Two weeks into the treatment and my anxiety/depression has already been cutting back some.  I think mine has contributed to some muscle spasms in my neck that refers pain to the top of my head.  I'm hoping that improves more soon.

I hope you feel well soon;  I hope we all do!

Sorry silly phone! 8 months of wrong diagnosis. Only found out about vit d myself and got my own test. Now on 2,000 iu three times a day. Chest pain already easing just hope anxiety and fatigue stop soon. I've been so depressed and feeling helpless. I have a 2 yr old and a 4 yr old and felt like such a useless mum that can't pick up the kids or play with them and is constantly crying and stressed.  Hope we all heal soon. In the uk and no sun at all at moment so reliant upon supplements.
