scared

I'm actually writing this from the hospital.  The hospital gave me internet access on my laptop since I have been here for six days so far.  Starting the day before Thanksgiving of 2009, I have gone from a healthy person to a train wreck.  I had my Gall Bladder removed, went back to the ER 1 1/2 weeks later with Heart Attack symptoms.  I was sent home with nothing.  My Dr. called me the next day to see what was going on with me.  He had me in the next day.  Two hrs later of more tests, his gut said, something was just not right.  He sent me back to the ER for more tests.  Five hours later I found out I had a PE.  Needless to say I freaked.  My GP later told me that I was probably walking around with this for a week and 1/2 and could have left this world at any moment and he was quite upset at the previous ER for not catching this.

Sooo, they put me on Lovonx and Coumadin, 7.5mg.  I was fine for a couple weeks until this past Monday.  I was driving home with my wife and I got this incredible flushed sensation from my feet, up my legs, my chest to feeling dizzy.  We pulled off the freeway.  As soon as I stepped out of the car I got slammed with the same feelings as my PE.  I was incredibly short of breath, numbness and then bad tingling down my left arm and leg, my mouth was dry as a rock and I felt like I had to explode in my plants.  It was if my nervous system was checking out.  Needless to say we were near a trauma II hospital and I was admitted.  My EKG was all over the map and I could not control my body from shaking severely.  This went on for about 30 minutes.  Long story short, I have been in the hospital now for six days and have had every test known.  Hard Cath, Echo, Ultrasound on the carotid, CT, blood, chest xray.  All that has found no heart attack but an unusal issue with my heart.  There are two muscles squeezing on of the others.   I have great blood flow and the Dr. said I'm to young for the type of stent he would need, approx 3 inches in length.  He said it is not a trivial matter and due to me being 48 there are more risks putting it in.  So now I'm on Coreg, Lovenox, Coumadin & Lipitor.  Dr. says I could have the beginning of Ischemia, but no hard proof.  Bottom line, there are issues found but nothing definitive done to resolve my issue.  So now I'm in the same boat as many others.  You get this immense sensation and pain, what the heck do you do.  I'm going to BK going to the ER 4 times in six weeks.  I'm scared and I can relate to others fear with the pain/cramp in the left side.  What do we do when we have these episodes?  Dr.'s say 911.  I can't go to the ER everytime as I will go BK.  Lost.......................

Go to the er when you need to go. Don't worry about BK. I'm already there from drs missing things. This is about you. Ask questions. Go to the mayo clinic site and John Hopkins medical site. Hospitals with innovative doctors. Stents open up the artery for better blood flow. There a band aide. but better than nothing. You need to get to the root of the need for stents. Have them fix it if they can. And if they can't get to a dr who can. Don't let them have you walk out that door without the issue resolved. It finally for me was a cma who found my problem after so many er visits. and going broke. and the original problem left unresolved for months created a heart problem. There is a problem. It can be solved. Your doctor sounds good. He called you. He cares about his patients. Most of them don't they care more about their beamers. You know the kind. Dr. Dork.  I am saying prayers for you. Don't worry about BK.  You are going to be alright.

honey I am only a cma but that is bull about your to young for a stent my husband at 35 has 5 stents and that shaking you where doing is a form of a seizure when your heart can not produce enough blood which carries oxygen to your brain you nevous system will flip out have they thought about doing a spinal tap since your ekg was ok however if you have great blood flow you wouldnt need a stent but i would be concerned about blood clots if i were you i know its a pain i would keep trying new cardiologist and neurologist because unfortunatly most doctors really dont care about finding the root probelm they want to get you in and out. You might just have a very rare condition that doctors are not educated on my son has one and it took them three years to find it at emory in atlanta georgia also try the website www.askadoctor.com those doctors really seem to care and sweety so sorry your going though this i will have my family pray for you IT WILL GET BETTER ALLWAYS BELIEVE THAT Ive seen so many patients go down hill because they gave up lots of luck to gator4 wife
