amitriptline and diazepam

Hi I am due to have a visual evoked response test shortly and need to know should I still take my amitriptiline 150mg a day and my diazepam.

Could taking these affect the results.

Thank you

You are welcome.  If you are in doubt give your doctor a quick call.  I had a mild Traumatic Brain Injury and did plenty of tests.

I did lumbar puncture too and they took lot of spinal fluid for plenty of tests (almost tested everything including LYME).  Luckily I didn't get the spinal headache and no complications from the test.  I did lay flat for 3 hours in the hospital before went home.  Drink lots of ginger ale or soda after the test.

Except MRI/CT scan which showed some bleeding in the beginning and all other tests didn't help with anything.

Good luck and take care.

Thank you SamPCS, the test is to diagnose Multiple Sclerosis, MRI came back clear, so now having the visual evoked test and a lumber puncture.

Dont want to take the Amitriptiline and Diazpam if it is going to cause a bad reading.

Thank you for your advice.

I did that test for my dizziness and I am told to stop any Benzos (Xanax, Klonopin, Diazepam etc.,), Dramamine, elavil etc.,

Depends I guess for what condition you are testing and mostly they say no to take some medications prior to testing.

Ask the testing center or doctor for an opinion.
