tingling/numbness nearly gone. No need to have worried

I developed tingling/numbness in hands and feet after a really bad flu.  Tingling spread up to my back and head. I panicked and went to GP 3 times.  I also went to a Neurologist. This can happen from either a/ anxiety or b/ from a viral infection/flu.  Seemingly the immune system attacks the nerve endings.

My Neurologist advised me that my tingling/numbness wont get any worse and wont develop into something else. He advised me it will be slow to improve and not to panic if its a slow recovery.

Well..its almost 6 weeks and Im improving! I find the internet quite negative. Hope I can re-assure someone out there worrying about themselves

Hi there. I appreciate your gesture very much indeed. You thought about your fellows and decided to share your testimony with those suffering with similar issues. I am sure this would be very beneficial for those people suffering from post viral peripheral neuropathy. Thanks once again for this. Take care and all the best.

hi me again
been 1 week now after 8 weeks of neurological symptoms which began 3 weeks after viral labyrinthitis (please note, did not have sleep for 21 days as vertigo/dizzy was 24/7 with no meds to alleviate labs symptoms), extreme fatigue and panic/anxiety induced by the labs
additional detail: neuro symptoms started as numbness in one toe, pricking sensations various areas then tingling/pins and needles then changed to numbness random area and experience one occasion of dead arm for an instant, then included faint and infrequent fasciculations...currently only have very very faint buzz in 2 fingertips and very infrequent fasciculations (approx. 1 an hr)
medical history: panic disorder and clinical anxiety (health anxiety with onset of the labyrinthitis/vertigo)
