sweats really bad

what can stop me from sweating so bad? I sweat so bad to the point just to walk in a store I start to sweat. I could be just standing around and start to sweat. Now I'm starting to sweat under my breast and it smells like onions, I have to put deodorant under my breast because corn starch baby powder doesn't work. Please help I don't know what to do.

I have the same problem but I also sweat on the top of my scalp, down my back, and private area but strangely, not my underarms or feet like most talk about.  It is very debilitating.  I have so many other medical issues and take a lot of meds so it is hard to determine the underlying cause.  Are you doing better now?  I noticed this post was in 2012 and it is now 2024.

Hello and hope you are doing well.

You have a clinical condition known as hyperhidrosis which is uncontrolled sweat appearance, particularly hand and feet. It can occur without any identified reason. It manifests during the normal daily hours and is despite the anxiety state of the person. It is usually an inherited condition and is related to the sympathetic system. If the nerves or brain receptors fail to work precisely, it may ask the brain to sweat due to wrong stimuli leading to hyperhidrosis. Certain spinal cord problems like syringomyelia can cause hyperhidrosis. Lesions and tumors in the spinal cord may also trigger it. Hypothalamus controls body’s thermostat particularly infections can lead to wrong signaling by brain to body to perspire more. Emotional factors, anxiety and stress are other causes. Obese suffer from excessive sweating since their sweat glands tend to work doubly hard to excrete the unwanted minerals from the body. Certain foods like hot and spicy foods can make him sweat more. Treatment options include anti cholinergic drugs like ditropan and probanthine. These can have side effects like dryness, blurry vision, dry mouth etc. There are others like mild sedatives and beta-blockers, which act by their sedative effect on adrenergic system. Medicated anti perspirants like the physician can prescribe drysol, and a non prescription antiperspirant is also available called maxim. Other options are Botox, which is limited to armpit sweating, though has been tried for palmar and plantar also. Technique called iontophoresis where electric currents through the skin to disrupt the function of sweat glands. Hormonal disorders like hyperthyroidism needs to be checked .You need to discuss with a physician, what I have put forth are speculations which need to be confirmed with clinical examination and investigations.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.

Hi there,

I can just imagine how frustrating the sweating must be and it is not even HOT yeat.

These days ANYTHING can be fixed with Botox and it is not even a big expense and might even get it done via State medical insurance?

All the best and let us know how you are doing.
