I am 38+3, just got back from 38 week check up. I am still barely a centimeter dialated , cervix is soft but not dialating. baby's still not dropped down far enough. it feels like hes never going to come. I've only had one practice contraction and am so over it already

For what it's worth I'm 39+2 AND they attempted to induce using prostaglandin gel yesterday, and I'm only 1 cm and still thick.

Im still not dialated at all and im 39+5 my cervix is soft finally but thats it.

Hang in there.  I was not dilated at all at my appointment at 38 weeks and 3 days.  I go again on Tuesday 8-20.  It can happen all at once or you could be dilated starting around 36/37 weeks but then not make much progress.  This is what I am hearing from a lot of people.  Everyone is different.  Hang in there.

You're just barely full term, give it time.
