lower back pain and bad stomach aches

Hi i was just wondering if anyone can tell me why my stool as you call it is bright geen in color, i have a very irregular bowel and get very bad lower back pains and terrible stomach aches, i feel like i need to go to the toilet to make me feel better but can't, it also has a terrible smell which i thought was unusal. Should i go see my doctor?

green stool isnt anything to worry about, it's usually just a product of something you ate. you should go get checked by a doctor, though, if you're concerned about the stomach problems, it's better to be safe than sorry. i have awful stomach problems too, mine are usually chalked up to nothing but stress and poor eating habits, but i'd rather hear a doctor tell me that...

good luck :)

If this happens often it sounds like you may have s/s of what may be considered IBS, but that usually fluctuates between constipation and loose stools, and is usually not foul. It can cause cramping however.  How often does this happen, a lot, once in a while, or is al the time?

Do you take iron or have you eaten anything lately that would effect the color of your stools, leafy green foods possibly? Although green stools are not uncommon maybe the foul smell needs to be investigated, if it is that bad.

Best to have a GI work if you are worried, or at least see a GP.
