NO SPERM
WE THOUGHT MY HUSBAND HAD RETROGRADE EJACULATION BUT WHEN HIS SEMEN AND URINE TEST CAME BACK THEY FOUND NO SPERM IN EITHER. HE HAD HERNIA SURGERY ABOUT 5 YEARS AGO. COULD THIS CAUSE HIM NOT TO HAVE ANY SPERM? AND WHAT ARE THE CHANCES OF HIM NOT HAVING ANY AT ALL? ALSO IS HE GOING TO BE ABLE TO FATHER A CHILD? THANK YOU!
I WAS ON THE INTERNET AND IT SAYS ON THERE THAT IT WAS POSSIBLE THAT THE DR THAT DID HIS HERNIA SURGERY MY HAVE CUT HIS VAS DEFERNS. IF THAT'S THE CASE CAN THAT BE FIXED?

Obtaining a semen analysis can help determine the next steps. Failure to make sperm, or a blockage in the ducts can be considered. I would ensure that retrograde ejaculation is not a factor. Genetic testing can be done to exclude conditions where sperm is not produced.
Tests to evaluate for blockages in the vas deferens can be considered as well. If this is the case, stents can be considered as possible treatment.
