Diagnosed with Neurogenic Bladder, but doctor said I did have a contraction??

I am confused...I did a urodynamic test and the doctor said I did have a contraction, although it was not that much and not what "they like to see", so then I asked "do I have a neurogenic bladder" and he said "you could say that".

What the heck does that mean? Is it treatable? I have had urinary retention since my hysto on October 6th and never had any bladder issues prior to this. How does someone go from normal bladder function...to nothing.  He suggested that I get the Interstim Implant......don't get it though??

Have you been able to urinate?  I had my hysterectomy done on 01-16-07 and cannot urinate.  If there was something done to a nerve, can they fix it?

hi,
Sorry you have problems. Has it got any better?
Protocol for InterSTim Therapy is to have exausted all other methods before surgey.... meds., biofeedback, etc.
If you never hhad problems before hyst. i wonder if a nerve was injured? Can your doctors have answers to that?

I have neurogenic bladder from a neurodegenerative diseasee.i have mixed incontience.. spasams, urge, and retention
I had trial surgery last year. unfortunate was not sucesful, i presumed my nerves and pathways were pretty bad.
I was glad he offered to me, i would have wondered if i could have been helped, but now i caath and use oxytrol patch(i propbly should ask about foley or suprapubic since this method has had very little relief.
My doc said those it works for it is aa life changing.
Good luck Jen, i understrannd.
