HI

This discussion is related to Unprotected Cunnilingus.

HI Doctor
I visited a stripper almost 40 days back. To my stupidiy I did  cunnilingus with her. At that time i was not aware that although low there is a risk of HIV in that activiy. I was scared after i realised that. So the very next day i speoke to the HIV testing centers. There was one representative visiting me she did some oral HIV test which i found online is considered to be accurate. According to that test i was negative. After so long time i dont see any symptoms which are described as the early symptoms of getting infected. I just wanted to know if i did the test too early? or would u recommend me to take another test for reconfirmation. Thanks a lot in anticipation.

In order to consider the test definitive, yes.  In reality, since you had a pretty low risk exposure to begin with, I think it will still turn up negative.  Most HIV positive people would test positive by 40 days, so the odds are already on your side.  It's up to you, really.  For my own piece of mind, I probably would, but that is probably overly cautious.

The test was much too early.  You need to wait at least 6 weeks and preferably 12 to get an accurate HIV test result.  Though with your low risk exposure, most likely it will be negative anyway.

So if you test again in about 20 days, that will be definitive.
