The only other thing that I know of (and my knowledge is VERY limited) is that occasionally they will also put you on antibiotics. I'm sure you have discussed this all with your doctor, so I would just keep doing what ever he/she said. Good luck.
If you see your doctor and get him to refer you to a physiotherapist that is experienced in lymphaticLymphatic obstruction drainage massage they will be able to show you and treat you with massage that you can actually do at home.

Of course in extreme cases people do have to use compression garments, but there are other techniques that you can be treated with and shown to help yourself as well.
