Anyway, assuming that there really is no lymph node involvement, the appropriateness of giving chemotherapy after surgery would depend on the size of the primary tumor. If the tumor is 0.5 cm or less, no additional chemotherapy is needed. If the tumor is greater than 0.5 cm in size, then chemotherapy plus herceptin is appropriate treatment, even if the nodes are negative for tumor.
