posterior cervix at 40 weeks

hi am 40+3weeks with my 2nd child i go to the hosptial every other day coz my babys movement has slowed down my doctor did an internal the other day  to c if she could do sweep to start labour  but couldnt as my my cervix is in the posterior position and still thick so they cant induce me as it may not work. my baby is still at the brim and not 4 going down she also said my baby is quite big  i have to go back next week 2 see her can anyone help plz

I did a little research on this.  It should not have any effect on labor.  Supposedly it is supposed to move into a more anterior position as you near labor.  Maybe baby isn't done cooking yet.  Good luck, hopefully at your next appointment it will be in a more anterior position and then they can induce.  I hope that size doesn't become an issue and that if it hasn't moved forward yet that you still have the ability to wait so u don't have to have a c section.  Hope u get to see your baby soon.

I agree with kennedy that is a toughie. I have never heard anything about a postierior cervix. Best of Luck
