calf pain

by Ihatepalps2, Jun 24, 2008 08:09PM
Last night in the night I had a cramp in my calf--I didnt wake up completly, but I remember putting my heel down, and pulling the cramp out. I went back to sleep. All was fine all day today. ( I sit at a desk 8 hrs a day) I left work--and I always take the stairs down. eight flights of stairs. I got about 3/4 way down, and suddenly the exact area that I had the cramp in, tightened up-felt like I was having the cramp again! I had no choice but to keep going. Got to the bottom, and walked out to my car--it hurt!
Now, later in the evening, my calf hurts! I tested it to see what made it hurt, and for example, if I try to raise up on my toe, ohhh, I cant do that! It doesnt hurt if I hold perfectly still, but if I move my calf at all, it hurts.
No swelling, no warmth, no lumps....but of course Im terrified of DVT or something bad like that.
Any ideas?

Hello
could be as benign as muscle pull or on the other hand a dvt. consult with a board certified vascular doctor or primary care who will evaluate you and consider performing ultrasound to evaluate dvt . good luck
