Frequent Urination but UTI is clear
I an having frequent urination for past 8 weeks. the frequency was worse like once in every 30 minutes and really uncomfortable. I had some urine culture test but they were clear, doctor told me that i don't have any infection or diabetes (As the blood sugar was normal) and recommended to meet a urologist. Urologist told me it might be due to anxiety, and prescribed UROTEL XL . It gave me some relief, but I noticed after masturbation the frequency was again once in an hour.
Is it somewhere related to prostate or what exactly is the disease?
Is this medicine appropriate?

hey i have a problem when i go for urine i do frequent urine and and my urine flow is weak and some times i cant feel urine but when i masturbate then this problem is start after 2 or 3 weeks then it is ok but not 100% so i go to doctor and he take a urine test and he do a ultrasound and my ultrasound and urine tests are clear so doctor what you suggest me what i do which tests i say doctor to take me????????
hey dr, i have a frequent urination with the burning when urinating and the urge to.first i had back pain and testical pain, went to my dr who did ultrasound and found my balls all in good shape but still sent me to a urologist.i saw the urologist,checked my urine and it was good,checked my bladder and was all empty but didnt prescribe anything for my painfull urination. but said pain to the balls was from the back pain and prescribed ibuprofen 600mg for me.

I have the same problem what Sanjeev had described, I pass lot of urine very frequently, and in the night it is too much. I feel like getting up and going at night times. I had met a doctor and as per his advise he said that, my bladder doesn't have the capacity to hold much urine. So he also prescribed Urotel 1mg. When I started taking that, I felt better and no problem at night times. But I used to feel very exhausted, much more hungry than usual. I couldn't control, so I stopped it. The problem still occurs, now the condition is if I control urine in night times, when I get up morning, I have severe pain on the left side of my lower stomach. It stays for a long time, and I become very tired and unable to do my regular work. And because of this urine issue, I am not getting sleep properly. Please help.

There is frequent urge to urine, but no pain while doing so and the amount of urine is less. It has happened before (as in an year or ago) but it never lasted for more than a week. This time it has stretched for 20 days.
For history, I had taken homeopathy treatment (still undergoing) for constant throat infection and recurring stomach problem (like lower abdomen pain and loose motions). In the middle of this treatment, frequent urination problem happened. I am not sure about the cause for it.Homeopathy has been very effective in controlling throat and stomach related issue but has failed when treated for urination problem.
I discovered that I can prolong the urge to urine if I keep myself occupied with something, for example I would play games on my cell phone while traveling in train, but not for long.
As I could not take it anymore, I consulted an Urologist. According to him, it may not be anything serious, since if it were I would have woken up in the middle of the night. Which is not the case with me. He asked me to do Urine test and ultra-sonography.
While sonography did not find anything unusual, urine test (microscopic) detected blood (trace) and Red blood cells (occasional). The doctor had asked to take first urine sample but since sonography clashed with it, the pathology got sonography done before urine tests as a result I had taken lots of water, eventually, perhaps submitting a diluted urine sample. I will take the test again day after tomorrow, when pathology is open or tomorrow at some other clinic. The doctor will be available only after 3 days for consultation. However, he has prescribed Urotel XL4 for 5 days.
I am curious to know the cause of this issue. Does it have anything to do with Homeopathy? However, the problem first occurred to me after I had a large glass (250-300ml) of carrot-mix-apple juice.

Its been a long time, but the good news is i am cured. I continued the medicine (soliten 10 mg) for some time (7-8 months) and it finally went off. Still sometimes i feel that kind of urgency but it is under control. I think that was due some kind of anxiety, but now everything is fine. Thanks a lot for help.

However, you will have to ensure that you keep your fluid intake high (over 2000 ml) and void your bladder every 4-5 hours at least to ensure that your kidneys and bladder atay healthy.
This will ensure that you do not have any retention and will avoid potential infections.
Additionally, including citrus fruits or juices in your diet will be an adjunct to maintaining normal function and mucosal integrity of body structures.
Relaxation techniques, regular physical activity even if for only 15-20 min can help greatly in destressing and releasing the hormones essential for calming an individual.

i went through renal ultrasound... prostate kidneys are normal (in shape as well as contour). My doctor said this is a problem related to profession (he meant anxity).
doctor changed my medicine, now I am on soliten 10 mg(solifenacin succinate) and Dynapres .4mg (tamsulosin hydrochloride). Frequency has potencially reduced... I am back to normal, but dont know for how long.

my problem is that when i drink water or any juice i have to urinate justafter 8-10 mins, and it happens 5-6 time after every 10 mins. ... i dont have medical insurance so i cant consult a doc.. plz help .. my aunty is a doc she gave me ciproflaxacin 500mg last night..i have taken 2 doses of it with 2 tablets of Urinary Pain Relief.. still have same problem i think antibiotic takes time to effect .. so i have to wait 3 days ... but i m having this problem since monday.. No, its not too late to deal with the problem, whether its related to the prostate, kidneys, or bladder.
Antibiotics should have been decided upon based on the organism identified.
Urinalysis may not detect any organism in a single urinalysis. Specific examination of prostate fluid (by prostate massage test) and culture sensitivity of the identified organism will help decide on an appropriate antibiotics in treating the infection (if there is one).
A prostate ultrasound will help determine whether the prostate gland is enlarged or has developed any structural abnormalities.
If frequency is persisting despite the UROTEL, do discuss a switch in drug in consultation with your urologist.
Meanwhile, avoid prostate irritants. These include alcohol, caffeine, spicy foods, and citrus fruits.

I was on Puridium 200 and Ciplox 500.
actually it was not cured at that time, and i had to go to urologist.
It has been more than 45 days since this problem has started.

A more detailed examination, specific to the prostate, would be good as it could identify the cause of the problem.
Urotel XL (tolterodine) is juat a drug that acts on the bladder to reduce frequency symptoms. It does not cure the cause.
The source of the frequency and discomfort will need to be identified and treated to avoid a chronic problem.
You may need to have a digital rectal examination to rule out prostate enlargement asnd may also be required to have a prostate ultrasound or a prostate massage test.

Actually I took a 5 days course of infection, but after the reports were clear doctor told me to stop that course.
then I took this UROTEL XL for 15 days. tomorrow or day after tomorrow I need to meet doctor, because the frequency has gone but, the feeling is not gone. when i urinate there is still this feeling, but now its not urgent.
