Thank you for your comments. You are correct! I have asked my husband to please see his cardiologist for an evaluation. If his doctor recommends 80 mg's of Lipitor daily I will accept his expertise. You would never believe I am a nurse! I guess when it comes to a loved one all knowledge flys out the window!! Best wishes to you, I trust you will do well.
Has he talked to a doctor about his symptoms, and has blood been drawn to determine if there are adverse reactions with the Lipitor? I'm 67 also, had a heart attack nine years ago, but have a lot of stents in between, so your husband and I have lots in common! I also recently experienced increase fatigue, some unintended weight loss and I'm short of breath, and a stress test last week indicated new blockages, I'll see the doc next week to see what's next for me. Blockages can occur very, very quickly as we know from the well-documented case of Tim Russert, and blockages sure could produce the symptoms your husband is experiencing. In my opinion, stopping the Lipitor could be the worst thing to do if indeed there is a new blockage, I'd certainly make sure a doctor sees him soon. Keep us informed, and best wishes.
