MS Dizziness?

I was diagnosed with MS last October 07,  after server back pain with burning/numbness in rt thigh. MRI of lower lumbar was fine. One month later had sever dizziness for 10 days and MRI of brain showed white matter changes(spots).  They called it an MS episode.
In July my back pain became chronic and for the last 22 days I have sever dizziness and the last 10 days it has been accompanied with sense of being on an aesthetic gas(body numbness). The neurological exam was normal, showing no nystagma or gross neurological deficiencies. All blood work and MRI done 7 days ago all were normal and MRI was unchanged from last year. He actually though it might be an eight nerve dysfunction.   No family history of mental disease. I live on an Island so I have to travel to my Neurologists who currently is at a lost where to go next. Any ideas.

My Dizziness has not decreased, but my body can now deal with the disorienting sensation, just as its doing with the feeling of being on an aesthetic gas-though I still can’t drive. What’s frustrating is I still have all the problems from last years “episode”; lower back pain into rt leg and others with burning numbness. Sense of smell is extremely foul & taste is wrong -there for no appetite. But now most of my “sense of sensations” are way off. But mentally and physically I’m fine. I don’t smoke, drink or have any bad “habits”.
I have noticed recently that my vision is not blurred or doubled, but over lapping. Last week Thursday when I visited my Neurologist & did the MRI, he diagnosed a possible 8th cranial dysfunction and now questioned MS. They are doing blood work for B12 deficiency, Lyme disease, and two others(can’t remember) , but its not back from the mainland labs.  I’m not opposed to travel off Island to see someone who might have a better understanding of why “my world is so off”. Thanks for your earlier response.

Hi,

How are you?
Severe back pain raises the suspicion of problems in lumbar spine like disc herniation and prolapse.
But since your MRI of lower back is normal this cause can be excluded.
The possibility of MS cannot be ruled out because you have positive finding in the MRI report along with symptoms.
The other possibilities can be B12 deficiency causing peripheral neuropathy, electrolyte insufficiency, and stroke or a transient ischemic attack.
It is difficult to pin point the exact diagnosis without a clinical examination. Hope this helps!
