I've had paragard for almost 3 years (December), and my periods are very heavy.  They also last a lot longer, about 10-14 days.  There are even months that I get my period twice.  I also experience headaches on a monthly basis during my period or after.  I'm thinking of having mine removed because I'm tired of bleeding out and getting headaches.

I had it for two years, and then took it out to have another baby. I liked it. I did have heavy periods, and became anemic because of the heavy blood loss. My doc told me to take iron supps daily, and Ibuprofen during my period to minimize the bleeding. I think I am going to try it again
