Hi,
Thanks for writing in.
It is very difficult to give information on prognosis and treatment without knowing the cause of axonal neuropathy.
However if it is a genetic cause like in the case of giant axonal neuropathy nothing much can be done apart from controlling the symptoms.
However if it is due to a tumor for eg a myeloma pressing the nerve removal of the tumor will relieve the symptoms.
So the treatment and prognosis will depend upon the etiology of neuropathy.
