Most oral STD's do not show symptoms and for that brief of a period it would be unlikely to get one. You might be getting a cold which could/would affect your throat/tonsils.

When it comes to STD's in a relationship it is often good to talk about them early on and have both people get tested so each other knows that they do not have an STD. It is clear that your boyfriend took offense to the question which is not uncommon, but if you talk to him more before having unprotected sex and tell him that you want to make sure that both of you do not have any and test together it might be something he goes for. And that is if you plan on having unprotected sex, and if you do make sure you use some form of birth control.
