A-Fib and skips

I have afib and being treated with Verapamil and Sotalol.....I get heart skips, sometimes frequent like four or five a minute.....sometime once every five minutes....is this part of the medication stoping me from going into afib?

Yes, I think I would discuss with a new doctor, I assume you are talking about a cardiologist. It may be a simple as increasing your dose.

I have been on them for 5 years.....it has always done this but in last two months it has become worse....doctor didnt seem to concerned....my original doctor who relocated told me when I started the medication that it was the medicine stopping my heart from going into afib....the doctor I have now just doesnt seem thrilled to discuss it to deeply....maybe i should look for a new doctor.....

You didn't say how long you have been on the named medications.  If you started them recently, and before you had skipped beats all the time, i.e., persistent (chronic) AFib, then I'd say give the meds some time to work.  If you are saying that you had fewer episodes of skipped beats before starting the medications, I think it worth an immediate call to the doctor to find out what he thinks.
