TSH, 3rd Generation

My TSH, 3rd Generation came back at 4.83 with normal range being 0.40-4.50   -  What is it telling me.

This is mild hypothyroidism.  Usually we would retest this in 6 weeks and see if it is persistent or if it is a transient abnormality.

most likely a dose increase would be indicated in this situation

I am presently on a low dose of Synthroid.  My former TSH showed within the normal range - - possibly I will need an increase in my throid?
