What's causing Purple lips and Shortness of breath

On occassion my lips would turn purple.  It is very noticable and the condition would last almost two weeks and gradually fade away.  I have recently, the last month or so, began having  shortness of breath, less frequently...palpitations.  Arterial blood gases normal, pulse ox 100%.  Healthful information: vegetarian (i eat dairy), low iron, work midnight shift, usually get about 4-5 hrs of sleep during the day, if Im lucky.  Could sleep deprivation cause any of this?

I am curious about this because I have been noticing purple patches on my lips.  I have had stress tests (normal) but I do have a small PFO.  Had a bubble study and watched it pass from one side to the other.  Docs don't seem to be concerned about that and that I have extemely low energy level and dizziness.  In the hospital they did blood gases and they show low (49-51-53) while the finger test is 98.  Been to the hospital several times for what we thought were TIAs but they now feel they are seizures.  I hit a wall (have to sit down) very quickly and quickly afterward, have a seizure.

Blue lips, ears, nose, hands and feet can be the sign of dysfunction of the ventricle of the heart.  You should see your doctor right away to see how the bottom part of your heart is working.  Getting very few hours of sleep is hard on ones health and can be especially hard on the heart.  Shortness of breath is also a sign of heart problems.  See your doctor as soon as possible.  This could be very serious.
