This Ct 3d reconstruction shows an elongated and malformed greater cornua of the hyoid bone clicking on the tranverse process. There are severl similar cases in the medical literature of malformed greater cornus leading to a clicking hyoid syndrome.
Yes you are correct I believe we both have a very similar abnormality to what is shown here in this 3d reconstructed picture, the tip of the greater cornua as you discuss has been bent to the "left" which in the case of this 3d image that would be a "posterior oriented elongation" of the greater cornua, the reason I think we feel the clicking upon inward palpation and some head movements is because the tip of our greater cornuas have been elongated in the direction of the tranverse process of the cervical verterbate.
