I only have two prescriptions. One is for COPD, and one is for Xanax. I am very careful to get the Xanax prescription from the same doctor every time. Drug addicts have made the lives on non-addicts very complicated.

hi, I'm almost positive, and keep looking for an answer back from me as I have contacted the DEA regarding Practitioners stopping you "cold turkey". It is dangerous, and it varies by State, but KY requires your primary or prescribing physician to give you in writing a letter of release from treatment, AND give you at least a months refill of your medication, or a time frame no less than 30 days to find another physician. This has become such a controversial issue that it's creating problems for those who really require the medication. You need to watch for withdraw symptoms if taken off cold turkey. This isn't a sign of addictions, even when you take holidays, and follow your doctors orders you can have very dangerous consequences from stopping ANY medication without being taperred off it. Good luck. Take your RX bottles and tell the Dr you changed insurance. I don't approve of being dishonest, but your in a pickle. :)

Really don't have much experience with this.  But I would go into the doc and say, "I don't understand - this is what they told me, this is what I did".  Help me.

Frankly, I would go back to both of your docs and ask them what the heck were they thinking?  One told you to go to the other.  You followed his advice.  It certainly wouldn't hurt to sit down with him and remind him, that you only followed his advice.
