Can natural remedies help ADD

My daughter was diagosed with ADD a couple of weeks ago. She's been having trouble focusing and staying on task at school. I am constantly receiving notes from her teacher about her inability to focus. I am not  a fan of medicating her because of  the terrible stories I have heard and have read about.  Is there research showing  Natural redemies helping with ADD? Especially with focusing and cocentration.

First I would question the ADD diagnosis. Any child who is troublesome at school seems to be diagnosed with ADD. Yes, you are wise to stay away from drugs. They can do tremendous damage. You do not say how old your daughter is and that is important. If she is very young I would sit back and wait.

i know for my daughter i put her on a special diet, because i refuse to put her on meds. anyway through my research i found the number one trigger for add/adhd it foods/drinks that contain red dye. what i did was for 2 weeks she had nothing but fresh fruits and veggies and bland foods no dairy or starch or anything artificial from then you put them on a diet of foods that contain no carbs, starch anything artificial or surgars and i tell you what within 3 weeks of that i saw a huge change in her bahavior she was able to concentrate to pay attention and to sit still alot longer than normaly

There is a new natural remedy used called L-theanine and you can read about it on the 700 club website at www.cbn.com/700club.  In the search area type ADD/ADHD L-theanine or just type ADHD.  This will show different remedies in the treatment of this disease.  It also has an article on fish oil, as well.  Which is another natural remedy used for ADD/ADHD.  Also, you can get the book "The ADD Answer" or "The IQ Answer (maximizing your child's potential)" by Dr. Frank Lawlis.

Hope that this helps.

Many studies have shown that listening to Mozart, Bach and other composers is very good for the brain and improves the grades of students who listen regularly.

I've heard that flax seed oil or fish oil can help. It nourishes the brain.
I think even more importantly is the brain training exercises that can be done. They have clinic that can help with that. My 4 year old is going to such a clinic. They think he has auditory processing disorder which is very, very similar to ADD. One of the things they're recommending is something called The Listening Program, which is basically listening to classical music with some other back ground noises for a half hour each day. They say classical music is supposed to be good for all kinds of things in the brain. I guess that's why pregnant women will listen to it, etc. It's worth checking out.
I hope that helps a little!
