Testing for ADD

17 yr old daughter and possible ADD. Should we go to a pscychiatrist, pcsychologist with comp testing or a Neurologist exp with ADD?  I understand she needs testing and not just questioners to fill out for an accurate diegnosis as to what the proplem is.

I went to a psychiatrist that specializes in ADD.
She also was helping me with a previous med related weight gain. (Zyprexa)
So, I feel better & the added benefits are focus & weight loss. That improves my self esteem & so it keeps me from being depressed.
A member of my support group needed help for her son. After meds he was so much calmer & could concentrate in school.

In my experience, its not so much the testing that is important as the treatment afterward.   In both cases - pre and post - I would go to doctors who are experienced in working with ADHD.  All too often girls get overlooked because they are not the hyper little boys running around. So it does take an experienced doctor to correctly diagnose ADD.   That doctor should also be able to then point you to another doctor who will do more then just medicate.  All the studies show that both medication and therapy are the most effective treatment.  But all too often, the therapy gets left by the wayside.
If it were my daughter, I would go with the Neurologist first due to his/her experience with ADD.
If you need any more information, please ask.  I have lots of resources available.  Best wishes.
