hi im curious

Hi I have been taking 30 mg of vyvanse for a couple months now and I feel awesome taking it.  It has helped my concentration and I believed it helped with some of my anxiety problems as well.  I was curious do people take this drug for the rest of there life once they start taking it. I do not want to go back to they way I was before I took it thank you

I, too have battled with being unfocused, changing direction constantly and feeling unable to finish anything I start and now I'm 42 and just getting a grip on it!  I started a small tea company in February and accidentally found Matcha Green Tea.  The first thing I noticed when I drank it was that I felt quiet, FOCUSED, calm ~ for the first time in a looong time.  It has some caffeine, but not a jittery caffeine (coffee was my addiction and the worst thing for me).  I am telling you, it has helped me immensely!  I have some information on my Facebook Fan Page... pureblend. I also am ordering it in bulk because people are really hooking into it and loving it.  L-theanine is NOT addictive, can be taken on an as needed basis ( I drink 3 to 4 cups a day) and is delicious too! So, look into Matcha tea, the L-theanine and all the other great things it offers and let me know if you try it, or if you'd like me to send you some to try.

Hope this helps and Best of luck!!

Ignore allmymarbles. The ******* goes and posts anti-medicinal therapy on all of the ADHD posts. I'm sure they wouldnt vaccinate their children either. Anyway, I'm a graduate student at Harvard, and I as well have ADHD. I'm on Vyvanse and it COMPLETELY changed my life. It's the least addictive of all the stimulants and proves the have the least side effects. I'm a happier, more organized, productive, focused, and calm person. I wouldn't even ever think about going back to my old way of life. I definitely won't be changing my medication. Regardless of why the ******* may try to refute with, real ADHD sufferers who take stimulants have proven to have no real long term side effects. There is some debate to the effects of growth it causes to children, but obviously not grown adults. Usually it doesn't lead to addiction in people who really need it. Adderall and ritalin are much more likely to cause addiction

In the almost 4 years that I have been on this site, I really haven't seen much that would answer your question.  Some adults have talked about using on an "as needed" basis, but I think that was more for a shorter acting med.  Personal guess would be that it depends on your lifestyle and how many alternate coping tactics you have learned to use.
One site that might help is an adult ADHD/ADD site that covers a lot of territory.  You might want to check it out here - http://jeffsaddmind.com/for-first-time-visitors
Best Wishes.
