*** Another One of my Weird Questions***
I have always been fascinated with this question. It's very difficult, and I hope nobody takes offense to it in any way, but here it goes........
I you were in the middle of the ocean and your boat was sinking......it's you, your spouse and your mother and you could only save one.......who would you save? If it were your Mother or your child......who would you let drown.....I know this is morbid or freaky, but I could never get the answer from my husband.......its not an easy question....for some it may be, but for others??????? I'm not sure if I can even answer it........very curious on how many can answer this.......and, it just may be ugly and unfair, but as i said......i am fascinated by anyone who can answer it......

I didn't read all the posts, but I have my answer.
This is serious. Let's say we really got put in this situation.
I thought about it, and I would let THEM decide. Flip a coin, pick a number, etc..
Or truly let them decide.
I would stay neutral, letting them both know they are my life, and I could no more choose who would live OR die. But they could, knowing one HAS to. Thus, the pressure is lifted, and each must sort out what must be done.
Either agree who goes on, or "pick a number" etc...
This was a hard question to ponder, and thank God we likely won't have to make such choices....

I was freakin' out!!! I thought, well, that confirms it then...I'm right on with my thinking.
I seen that she left her dog 12 mil a judge overturned her will and left the dog 2 mil and gave the rest to her grandkids and charities. My mother would do the same.
My mothers neighbor is a handyman and she wanted to get my dad a hand vac for a b-day gift...she asked him to pick one up for her. A couple of days later he did. He brought it to her. (i was standing there for this) She was thankful. He handed her the receipt the bill was $54.65 She had two twenties a ten and two fives. Instead of giving him $55.00 she went into the house and got the 65 cents. When she was counting out the money, I said, just give him the five...she gave me the worst look, totally Leona, and said, No. The bill is 54.65. I almost died and the guy looked at me like???? I said he spent $84 in gas to go get the thing; you owe him at least the 35 cents. Nope. She wouldn't give it to him.
I asked her after he left why not, she said he had plenty of money and she wasn't going to get a penny extra from her.

oh and I wish it were the mother inlaw rather than the mother yikes could not choose but if mother in law she is so full of hot air anyway shed prabably pop up from under water and bounce her way on top of the water to the beach..........
I guess I would say I would not go out in the middle of the ocean in a BOAT. I would think a ship to be much more the vessel to use for that so lets stay outta the ocean with boats cause they sink fast there.... LOL
NG...we all have "reasons" as to what gives us that little shove into using I think. It is not a choice always, I personally think life circumstances, family, etc. have something to "help" get us to that point, yews we make our own decisions but I would not have CHOSE to be an addict, I never grew up saying this is what I wanted in life!!
That is why we all have to examine our "triggers"....for some its life, emotions, etc....while for others it is the high......but we all have them.

This information might have a bit of insight as to what/why I'm an addict and why I would use her as a floatation device:

She was my mothers hero! I had forgotten all about that.! Now, when I say hero, I mean it. She loved her! Loved her philosophy's, her work ethic, her money and success, such as it was...Loved her. Stood behind her. Imagine that. I sit back and watch my mother and she's the same way.
Now in my 40's when we self examine how we got to where we are and why we do things we do or think the way we do...This type of thinking and expectations from my mother are a huge trigger and explain a lot of what I am getting rid of. I know, I know, I am the captain of my own ship now and make my own decissions, but at least this is a puzzle piece for me.
I'm praddling...sorry. Just a little insight as to 'floatation device' choices...
Now I'll go paddle instead of praddle..

Good question NaughtyOne!! If it were my Mom or my son I would give my lefe jacket to one of them and go down with the boat. I couldn't decide between the two.
when i was in psychology class in college..they posed the same question...almost..it was..if you were on a boat and you had to get rid of one person to keep afloat who would you get rid of and why...
yep......thats what makes the question so interesting to me......just to see where people's minds are......Not judging anyone. I still don't know that I can answer the question myself yet. I was bummed out to find out that I can't own this question. I thought it was mine.......always someone smarter, prettier, and every time you think you've come up with a good invention.......someone else has already thought of it.....I hate that.......lol.

yes the spouse does...and before children too...but if the spouse is not a christian..well...you gotta give that person a chance to figure things out..before it's too late..

well, between my mother and my husband, well I can kinda cheat on that one, hes not my husband YET so I wouldn't have a husband to save so I would save my mother lol. Also between my mother and my child, lord, I would save my child, shes got her whole life ahead of her I would always have her cherish the memory of my mother but I'd have to take the daughter, but if in any case I could save them all by dying myself and letting them use my boobies or something as flotation devices you know maybe cut both off and give them each one to float away on lol, I'd do that too.
