When I quit smoking 30 yrs ago I did it by myself. I realized some of the things I needed. Like inhaling deeply. Taking a break as if I were taking a cig break. I carried cut down straws in my pocket and used them to drag on. Plus I was used to something in my hand. I even quit drinking at the same time as I was afraid I'd drink too much and forget I quit smoking. I ate a lot of carrots and celery sticks! Good luck. Maxy
I agree that e cigarettes are better than smoking tobacco, though I chew tobacco, but e-cigs are primarily helpful with side effects, not the addiction to nicotine. Do research on nicotine itself, that is the chemical that kills many people, not just the smoke, though smoke inhalation does cause cancer and social criticism. Most people don't even know I am addicted to nicotine, because I don't smoke. Pure nicotine causes heart disease, adrenal burn out, and a long list of other illnesses, whether smoked, chewed, patch, gum, or e-cig. While nicotine consumed in a more healthy manner is progress, it is still really bad for you. Being that I chew, and don't smoke, I still feel many of the nicotine side effects, without the lung and smell issues that seem to be the focus of why e-cigs are so great. I am not condemning nor judging e-cig users, I simply see them a step, not the cure. I will quit nicotine eventually, as I know that any form of nicotine feeds my addiction as well as risks my health, which I worked so hard for in getting off drugs. Thanks for sharing this, I think that I would use e cigs, if I was a smoker.
