A New Thread For Friday

Just wanted to check in with everybody. It has been almost a week since my last Lorcet. 7 days straight. it is feeling better each day. For all who need help with the WD pain Thomas' recipe works well... very well in fact.
Chezz I've read about your lower back pain. Is it disc related or did this symtom appear after you stopped the narcs? One problem I've had is with my lower back and syatica since stopping the Lorcets. I see a really great chiropractor 3 days a week for ultrasound and gentle adjustments. It helps alot. It is a major complaint that I now have. My wife teases me that sex causes these flare ups because my hips have been so sore at times. I laugh at this I'd rather be in pain. My wife is a beautiful 35 year old woman. Beautiful from the inside out. Our pleasure is worth the pain....
I could barely keep up with the posts yesterday. The site is busy with a lot of issues.
CinCee and Pixi how are you doing?
I hope everybody has a great day.

Day 7 is good. Keep up the great work. I have found that working out a little every day makes me tired at night. The flexiril or klonopin makes me very dopey in the mornings. I feel that I take it because I like taking "magic pills". Maybe that is why I like the vitimins in Thomas' Recipe. My attitude is usually pretty good, especially in the mornings...
My Golden Retrievers (2) really like Dolche De Leche popsicles. Our Bernese Mountain Dog is partial to Ice cream sandwiches. Sharing is my life.

Hi, I feel the same as you about sharing with my golden.  I also like the bottles of vitamins.  That's why I give her a chewable C when I'm taking them.

I took Flex again last night.  No more.  I don't want to do anything that's makes me more fatigued.  I thing the RLS is under control, so I will try to take nothing tonight, but will have a mild, shorter-acting on hand.

I walked a lot yesterday.  Uphill. Sweated.
Fell asleep OK but up too early.  I need more than a few hours at this point.

But, I must say that this is a more ordinary tiredness and that awful restless kind.

I have posted several times that I have added a couple of things to Thomas' Recipe. Milk Thistle cleanses the liver and helps it work more effeciantly. Gaba (Aminobutyric Acid) is very much like Valium. It helps slow you down and sleep more naturally. You can get it at GNC for about $15 for 50x500mg.
My Goldens eat everything including celery and lettuce. I'm sure that my older male Golden is my room mate from college reincarnated.

Yes, I added those 2 things to the recipe.  I have to lay it all out a count it to make sure I haven't left anything out before I take it.  I've even got a little chart.  At least I don't have to hide it.

My golden has a bad attitude about salad.  She chews it but lets it drop out her mouth.  Yuck.

We are not superheroes. One week clean is still tough. Try not to be too hard on yourself. If you need some help sleeping use your meds. I dig your will and strength to endure.
have a great day.

Good morning all . . . been up on this day 5 since almost 5:00, but I don't like to post (or even lurk)from home.  Doing and feeling well, although I'm a bit overwhelmed by all the work I was able to ignore while living in a fog . . . I suppose it won't get done if I don't get to work.

I know what you mean about letting things go, though my work is at home.  I felt a lot more like facing it this morning, Day 6, then yesterday.  I listened to messages and answered Email for the first time since day -1, just this morning.

Although one of my cats got me busy night before last by peeing on the laundry.  I don't think I was paying enough attention to him.  All my animals are slightly dysfunctional.  Like their mom, I guess.  Except I don't pee in inappropriate places. yet.

Whats up guys. I am still up. It is about 6:30.
Last night was the scariest I have dealt with. The pain switched to the left leg. By about 2am my foot/lower leg felt "numb". I have never had it past the knee. So it has been a tough night. The pain still stayed up top. The bottom felt "asleep". So that scared me more than anything.  No sleep. just waiting to call my doc this morning.

It hurts like a banchee.

Bmac,

We did concider the ER. I would still probably be there if I went. I also don't like dealing with more than one doc.
We debated till about 2am, then she fell asleep. So I just tried to stay in bed with the heat pack.

Sheila, Oh my God, no.  Didn't you say yesterday that we should call ourselves geniuses just for being here?  I meant to be perky.  I should know better.  Nice is not my strong point.  Sorry.

Oh, oh, this is just awful news.  Have you tried telling your doc you will go to ER if he doesn't get you in TODAY?

I am speechless.  Anything I can think of seems trite in the face of what you are dealing with.

Thanks for caring about me yesterday.

That's ok, no it wasn't me that said that, but I agree with whoever did.  We are pretty damn smart for being here...

Chezz, I am so sorry you had such a bad night..man, there has to be a better way to do this for you.  How can your quality of life be good when you hurt so bad??

My "reg." doc is still out. So I am going to try and talk to the nurse I have dealt with. She is actually the nurse for the A$$ that I have had to deal with before.
I really don't know what is going to happen. He is a *****. He is the one that said, "you may have taken them for pain before, but not now."
I have never even seen the ***** in my whole life. He diagnosed me over the phone!!!!!!
So I diagnosed his A$$ back. So as you can see. I don't get along with his a$$.
It should be interesting.

I understand about the ER.I don't use them either. If I were in an accident or an emergency then I would go.But do the right thing, just remember fusion is a very serious surgery. But it will
take care of that siatic pain, believe me.Did I understand your
butt went numb also. That is a sign that the disc or the spine is pressing on the nerve and canal. You will make it though because you are a winner.Everyone reads it in your posts everyday.
I really mean that.Try to stay flat and stay off your butt, don't sit for awhile. That makes it worse and if you do,don't sit with your legs crossed. It puts the nerve in a off alignment.Hang tuff
