Very descriptive post and I appreciate it very much! Thanks!
Ok... ok... ok..... good information you guys. I was given a prescription when they muffed up my "steroid lumbar epideral". They went to far with the needle and leaked spinal fluid. There is a more sophisticated way of saying that but I don't know what it is. Anyway, they automatically assume that one will develop a "spinal headache" which some say is as bad as a migrane. I've never dipped into the bottle but my wife has because she is a migrane sufferer. I was just wondering if they may or may not help with WD symptoms.
I think everyone has made their point so it's no barbituates for me although I doubt that I would abuse them. I had a 30 day prescription for Lorazepam (Avitan) and it lasted me 28 days. I had no urge to abuse them like I do with Oxycodone. I have a funny feeling I'd feel the same way about "Barbies". I don't like anything that makes me sleepy during the day so those types of drugs are definitely reserved for night time. Thanks again for your replies. I appreciate it!

Thanks for the info! Yes, I found out the hard way!
Qualudes are methaqualone which is similar in action to barbiturates and benzos, but is in neither class of those 2 drugs. The effects are similar however, as you found out :)
Trout, Barbiturates are depressants of the central nervous system. Their effects are similar to benzos. I have used them before in Fioricet, which is normally used to treat migraines and tension headaches. They are medium-highly addictive..so, doctors will usually prescribe them in small amounts, or use better acting and less addictive drugs. I'm sure they can help with withdrawal symptoms because their action is similar to that of benzos, but you would have to be wary of the "trading one drug for another". Judy Garland, Jimi Hendrix..and, I think Margeaux Hemmingway died of barbiturate OD's. Phenobarbital was one of the most highly abused drugs in the 60's. Believe it or not, benzos were created in order to make these drugs obsolete. They can be just as bad in some circumstances. Sorry I'm rambling so :)
Qualudes is one I think....I experimented with them in my early 20's. About an hour after I took one I fell on my face and got scraped up pretty badly. Needless to say...no more "Ludes" for me!!!! I can't remember anything about that night...only have the scar on my chin to remind me! I'm so lucky someone was there to help me. Dangerous stuff.....I'd stay away from them.
A barbituate is not Speed, it is a sedative .....they as well are addictive
