Ask your doc about a "quick withdrawl" my doctor said there are guidlines for wenaning off and the fastest you could go would be to wean off 8 mg in 30 days but if your habit is big, you'll likely start around 24-32mg a day. So it's my understanding ther is no quick taper. There is a procedure where thay put you "to sleep" if you will and detox you in 3 or 4 days but it runs about $4-5,000.
The docs will know, look some up in your area and give them a call. Oh and be sure to price shop, they don't all operate the same way. Some wany $1000 up front and others work on an office visit basis.
Good luck, you'll be happy with the results, I am!!

I am sooo glad it saved your life because you are a wonderful person..there is such a wide variety of things people are doing and only we know how bad we truly are when we are abusing things..Love ya..talk to you soon..
I believe I am the one you are refering too. In my case all I was doing was substituting one drug for another. My doctor kept telling me that it sounded like I was letting the Suboxone do all the work and I wasn't doing anything. Which was true. I took the pill to function. So my only advice is to you is to do a fast detox 21 days or less would be awesome. I was on it for a lil bit over a year, and i didn't use the straw until the last couple of months. GO TO NA MEETINGS!!! Good luck and God bless!!
You know, the more that I read about suboxone, the better it sounds. I read a couple of posts on here in earlier days, and there was some real division about whether or not it was a worth while approach, or simply a last ditch effort. Several lately have posted success stories as a result of using it. I've decided that it's a way better way to go than flat out cold turkey, as long as the person has the honest resolve to quit. I'm still pondering the guy that got caught with his sub and a straw. I don't have a clue where his head was. If I do have future trouble, I believe I'll try it. I hope that never happens, but I would try it.
