Also, I was on the fentalyn patchs, oxycontin and percocet and it was a piece of cake to get off of them compared to getting off the benzo. I'm on xanex and don't think I will ever be able to get off of this drug. Good luck getting off the ativan. Perhaps if you don't have panic disorder with agoraphobia you will be able to get off of it just fine by tapering down slow and steady. Good luck.
The "so called experts" recommend that you slowly wean off benzos (ativan is a benzo) by no more than 20% reduction every week to 2 weeks. Hope this helps.
hi sweetie...good to see that you recognize that you are in trouble and have decided to do something about it. i have sent yoda a message so she should be around soon. hang in there :) stephanie is still here too...
i must ask...did your doctor put you on an antidepressant for the panic attacks or just the ativan? you need to treat the cause...not the symptoms. how long have you been taking the ativan?
you know how to do this...and things will not be anywhere near as bad as what you went through during the w/d's from the patch...so dont let "that" fear add to your panic. tapering is the answer with ativan...it needs to be done slowly.
we will help you manonfire...just as we did in the past. there arent many on here from the past (me, yoda, and stephanie)...but there are some wonderful ppl here now who will support you and your efforts.
hugs,
kim
Just fyi that drug must be tapered slowly to quit...keep posting..lots of support here
what is your plan to get off of the ativan?
feel like I am circling the bowl
need yoda, but no signs for monyjs same as connie and superglyde
willing to start over, but so mad rigth now
I kicked a 1600mcg a day fentanyl habit, then had some v=bad **** happen at work and needed ativan to get me thru. now i dont w=know if I had panic attacks 1st or ativan urges st. lost in it akll, and lower that whale ****
well in that case im sure you know you need medical supervision to taper off because of the whole seizures thing. maybee try some na meetings. you kicked fentanyl i know thhat wasnt easy, you can overcome this!
No I don't recognize you, but have only been here for less than 4 months.
Obviously you were here before? If so, what addiction? Same?
full of self loathing and anger
need some help. this is out of control
not expecting too many oldtimers to recognize me here
i dont know much about ativan, but i do know about addiction. its not worth living for something that is killing us. i recommend trying to get off all meds if your situation allows it
