I am from louisiana...i am on almost through day 7 in hours...I have been on lexapro for abut 3 yrs..
Maybe you would not need it that long, maybe just to get though the anxiety, but with the clonidine you may not have any..my best advice to you is to keep reading alot...you will never know what works best for you until you try..Everyone is different..i only take a multi-viatmin..
now i still have issues to deal with, of why i got like this to begin with..By the way i am an alcoholic too...have drank once in 2 yrs..A major slip up, but havn't touched it again..

My doctor at one time was going to give me Paxil.  I didn't go ahead with it.  So, the anti depressant calms your anxiety?

youre having anxiety now because of the paws. Post Acute Withdrawl Symptoms.
Think of it like this, youve never had herpes before either but you could one day get em right?

P.S. Taking an anti depressant isnt a bad thing. I was so against them in 2002 when the doc in detox put me on them but they actually worked! that was amazing! But you have to find the right kind for you. For her its lexapro, for a friend of mine its celexa, for me zoloft, my bf prozac...there are many and you have to find the right fit. Not all will work for you just.

Really?  The best is, before i got myself in this mess..i didn't have anxiety..I mean, I had some anxiety attacks once in a blue..but, now my whole body is riddled w/anxiety when I even think about stopping the pills.

I just don't want to be that person who can't deal with life.  So, u had good result on Lexapro?  I'll look into it. You started taking the Lexapro once u stopped the pills?  How long have u been clean now?

but also, the antidepressants take awhile to work, some 5 days some up to a month. so youll need something for the between time. i chose valium (actually I didnt choose it, they tried me on ativan, klonipin, librium etc) before valium finally worked for me.

i went on the zoloft mainly for the anxiety (at this stage and for the next few months) and just to kinda even me out. I felt like my head was swimming with so much C R A P and didnt know what to do with myself. I felt trapped inside myself.
The benzos have helped with that but now that the zolofts kicking in I dont think ill be refilling them.

Hi Bettie:  So, did u also feel like your head was going to explode?  That's my worry..i can deal with the all the other symptoms, they go away..But, the anxiety is just insane with me, especially when i'm at work.  The pills would get me through the day.

You went on Zoloft specifically for the anxiety?  or was there other reasons?  I have to talk to my doctor.

Thanks.

a nurse told me the clonidine will help with the "heebie jeebie" feelings. Plus it helped me sleep along with vistaril (or you could get benadryl, non rx and basically the same thing)

I am sure it will still help you, that will be almost 3 days right? that was the worst day for me. so yes get it, but i would try some way to get sooner, i have alot of it and wish you lived close i would help you...
It is a blood pressure medicine , and since most w/d symtoms are because of the spike in blood pressure this med lowers it and helps alot..
i am here if you need..
Good luck
you can do this i promise

THanks for getting back to me. No, my doctor's not in til Thursday. I just took my last two pills (I was trying to hold out, the anxiety is to much for me..that's what scares me the most) Do u think the clonidine will still work if I start to take it on Thursday after a day of stopping?

CONGRATS!!!!!!! That is a huge accomplishment!!! (pats on your back. pats on your back..LOL)

Today is day 4 for me, off of Suboxone. I feel pretty darn good. It could have been worse, so I am grateful.
Rose, you sound just wonderful. Congrats to you also! I guess those jalapenos really worked, huh?  LOL

I have been praying all morning. What a sad day. It is pourdown rain here and very dark and gloomy. How appropriate.

You all have a good day and take care of yourselves!

Big hugs..........

Thanks, i am very proud, i have to say...But i wanted this so bad--i could taste it...So the hard part will be the mental..
overit --i started taking the clonidine early, probably a day before the w/d started, i wanted to make sure it was in my system, that would be the addict in me i guess..
But it really does help, do you have any??

Go, girl!  I knew you could do it!  Are you taking any potassium?  We lose a lot of potassium when we're in withdrawal due to dehydration from the diarrhea and, in some cases, vomiting.  It works wonders with leg pain.

I'm glad you're feeling better.  Are you feeling great about yourself??  You should!

Yes, I'm watching a replay of the events of 911 as they were unfolding on that day.  We had just bought a new house and were going to be moving in on the 13th.  I was at the new house wallpapering the kitchen when my ex called me and told me what was going on.  I had no access to television so had to listen on the radio.  It sucked, because we had already arranged to have cable cut off at the old house, but they weren't hooking it up at the new house for a week.  I missed all of the coverage that first week.

It sickens me that they don't show this every day...it's amazing to me what short memories Americans have.  At the time, you couldn't BUY an American flag.  If asked, almost any citizen would have gone over there and kicked some butt.  Now, we seem to have forgotten what happened to us on our own soil.  How sad.

Anyway, congratulations again.  I'm very, very proud of you.  I knew you could do it!!!!!

Love,
Rosie
