Clean...but craving.

I have been drug free from a fentanyl and ativan addiction since March 2007.  Have been grateful not to have many cravings until this point.
I wanted to know if there is a vitamin/mineral supplement or any change in diet (looking for more of a natural than prescription remedy) that can help with cravings?

The cravings are the problem. IN comparison the physical withdrawl is for the most part a week or so,unfortionately those psychological cravings are what brings us back. I have been involved in bodybuilding all my life and amino- acids are only for a suppliment better physical preformance.not for the active drug addicted person. We as addicts look for chemical solutions.

L-Glutamine helps alot with cravings. I was taking that and it really did help. I took a 1,000 mg. 3x a day an hour before meals or 2 hours after.
Hang in there, I know that those cravings can be a real *****!!

I found this:

"L Phenylalanine can elevate mood, increase confidence and motivation, increase energy, improve alertness and wakefullness, decrease pain and decrease cravings" etc. etc.

It also recommends exercise. I'll keep looking because this is something I would love to know too.

I just got a book from the library on natural ways to combat addiction.  I'll see what I can find for you.  Have you tried tons of sugar and chocolate?  Seriously....your brain loves the chemicals in chocolate so maybe that would help???
