Codeine addiction / withdrawal

Hiya,
I've been taking codeine daily since July, around upto 700 mg daily including 60 mg tabs off the net, codeine linctus cough syrup, nurofen plus 12.8 mg).
I finally broke down n told my mam last night  n she took my to the GP who previously put me on co codamol 8mg, 56 weekly, obviously this did not work as I panicked n the rest is history.
Whenever I've cut down to the 8 mg tabs before I ended up not well over a day later but I'm not sure whether that was due to withdrawal or paracetamol overdose.
Now my GP has put me on pure codeine 15 mg x4 which my mam is giving me daily.
How long before I experience withdrawals n what can i expect from 700 mg daily to 60 mg?
All advice welcome.
PS It was strange going outside today with not as much codeine as everything seemed so bright - and different. Is this normal?

Thanks. Not feeling any withdrawals yet so maybe i wasnt really addicted after all? I have a slight headache n anxious now n then but feel surprisingly ok. Mind you i have had some sips of codeine linctus which i found here. Is it possible i wont experience any withdrawals at all?
I am feeling slightly panicky about the weekly perscription like what if i don't receive it in time etc.

Hiya Eveleivibe?
My addiction to codeine phosphate and Tramadol ended 41 days ago when I went cold turkey and my very last day of taking painkillers was my prescription day, 50x30mg codeine phosphates picked up at 10am and every one gone by 6pm!! I was taking 12 or 13 30mgs (360-390mg) up to 2 hours at a time.
My withdrawals started within 14 hours of not taking anything and I went to hell and back on a daily basis for 9 days, obviously everybody is different regarding the timescale but my main "poison" was the Tramadol and I was taking 500mg every hour sometimes over 7 years.
But I'm here today opiate free, very very happy now and just glad I made the "jump", stick to it though, ride the paintrain if you can because the codeine is a horrible thing to get off but a beautiful thing to get rid of!!
I wish you strength and luck with your fight.
