Could anyone help w/encouragement-methodone detox

trying to taper... cutting 10 mg pills into quarters. taking 1 quarter every 14hrs. tried to stop cold turkey but i was so miserable. called detox center and they said they could do it in a 5-7 day stay. they use other drugs and i dont want to be on any drugs any more. any words of wisdom from someone who has been through it. thanks

I not sure what the detox center would offer other than valium or sleep medicines like Trazadone or Seroquil. It's up to you, but I would consult the prescribing physician if your not comfortable with you current taper.

A proper taper should be done through your prescribing physician. Have you spoke with him/her and expressed that you want to get off of Methadone?

What were you taking to begin with?  How long have you been taking 3.3mg every 14 hours?  How do you feel now?

I think it might be better to stick with one amt per day. Take that every day until stable and cut down some more. Only cut down a few mgs. at a time. If you go slow,it's much better than ct. This is what I know but I've don't have personal experience with Methadone. Someone will post who does. Hang in there!
