will just a few days on subutex prevent withdrawls?

Hi everyone! I was hoping someone might know the answer to a question I have....I am trying to stop a 8-10 per day habit of percocet. Have only been taking them for 51/2 months. Last tuesday i went a day and a half CT and went into withdrawls....stupidly i got 15 pills and took them between wednesday night and Monday. My question is if i take subutex for just 3 or 4 days and stop will that let me bypass withdrawls??? Thank you for any input.

Unfortunately, there is NO way to by-pass w.d NO WAY. Its impossible., Some may be able to greatly reduce the impact of w.d, by tapering or using the thomas recipe or meds a dr may give for some of the symptoms, but no one can by pass w.d. Somewhere along the line, everoyne will experience some of the symptoms. Be it the depression, extreme fatigue, insomnia...or the more physical of symptoms. But they are right, although no one wants to go through it, you need to go through it to help the fight you have coming to you after you are clean. That is the hard part, now the w.d. Believe me, I wish it were as easy and just getting clean and stopping. Once you stop, you have a new set of problems to face. But you can do it. And I am sure that you will. Good luck..

lee and sarah are absolutely right.

IMO, sub should only be used as an ABSOLUTE last resort.  life threatening situations only. its an extremely strong opioid that should only be used under a" responsible" sub doc's care.........

Thank you for your help....i was afraid i was going to hear what you both told me....but was thinking that if i stayed on the sub for a few days to get the percs out of my system but not long enough to become addicted to the sub i would somehow be able to bypass the wds....Thank you again for your input

There is no way out of wd's.  It is part of the process.  At your dose i would just ride this out and be done with it.  Look into the health pages on the right hand side of the page and check out the amino acids.  This will help you also.  Drink plenty of fluids, eat bananas if you have RLS, take warm baths or showers and get out and get some fresh air.  Keep posting and talking with us......sara

not hardly, you are still in addiction thinkin, wanting instant results, this is a scary place for the brain to be in. W/ds are manditory for the healing process, if it were as easy as takin something else for a few days resulting in 0 w/ds what would be so bad about w/ds, nothing. You see w/ds give you a reason not to use again, sud is dangerous when using unprescribed, do you even know how long you have to wait to take it?? You have not been using long,  and if 15 lasted you 5 or 6 days than your dose is not to high, you are better off to kust c/t it and you be over it in a few days,.
