Daughter Addicted

I haven't posted question here yet. Have been lurking and taking it all in. I have been drug free for 79 days.  I just found out yesterday that my daughter is on drugs Zanax to be precise.  I think that when i was on percs that i was not paying that much attention to notice that she was doing drugs.  My question is how can i help her get clean without taking them myself. I am so worried and the sad thing is that since i have found out for sure that is all i have been thinking about. WHY you know what H**l.

Sorry for the delay in replying..I have limited access to a computer..I don't mind the questions I need all the help and support I can get. She is 19 and no I haven't got to talk to her yet she is at her dad's right now. I don't know if she is hooked right now or not but if she doesn't stop now and get help she will be. I hate to say it but she has all of my traits and i do have an addictive personality. I have come so close to calling my OLD friends just to get some sleep over this because I know what is in store for her. I was on any type of pain pills I could get. Not Xanax. I have been trying to find out all I can about these. I have taken one or two before for sleep but other than that I really don't know much about them.  By reading Danny's post I do see there is hope and help for her if I can get her home to talk to her to see what and how long and how may.  Thanks to both of you. I will be posting more.  If you don't mind all help and advice will be helful.

Congrats from me as well on the 79 days.  That's fricking awesome.  I take it that your daughter lives at home.  Does she depend on you for money?  How does she get the Xanax.  I have a 22 year old daughter who is now doing well and in college.  When she was 19 I realized that she was using chrystal meth.  The first thing I did was take away the car and all money.  The next thing was to have her attend drug counseling.  It took over a year but she's been clean and back on the right track for the last year and a half.

First of all, congrats on your 79 days clean. This is a tough one, because normally we have to put our recovery first and not always capable of helping others in the beginning, yet this is your daughter and I feel for ya. Have you sat down and talked with her? Does she show any signs that she wants to quit? I guess since you just found out, you may not know yet. How old is she? Sorry for all the questions, just trying to get some more info to help.
