Thank you for your reply. I"v been in and out of recovery programs for close to 30 years now.Currently I"v got close to 5 years without alcohol through AA. I really love the program. Unfortunally for over the last 2 years I"m hooked on 7.5/500 Hydrocodone 6-8 per day for a bad knee. Granted I dont need this stuff anymore. So I too am trying the taper method much to the dismay of my sponser, and myself. cold turkey is probably the best way to go for this type of medicine. I"m told by mostly what I read. unfortunatly at this time for some reason Fear has attached itself to me Hell I"m an ex Viet Nam Vet, 23 year career Fire Fighter and have gone through much worse then this. But I feel with the help of this forum and you loving and caring people We can do together what I can"t do alone. GOD BLESS. skip
It is taking me 2 NA meeting a day and constant contact with other recovering addicts. Will power definately does not work for me.
very good point i wish all it took was will power.
hi Skip, I don't recognize your screen name. May I ask...are you an addict or recovered addict? If so, those of us who are trying to recover may benefit from your story.
(I have been doing the taper method, but I can't stand it anymore, and am calling Monday to see about suboxone. Several people in the forum have had great success.) Any insight you may be able to offer will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you dear,
~shelly~
What it means is, Willpower is not enough to recover. My appology for lack of clarity. skip
Is that like like telling someone ......jump off a bridge, but I don't recommend it???
