hey fellow norco abuser-me 12-14 a day for 6 years! quit 1-7-10 told my dealers im done.so you have to cut yourself off from the source only u can do that.get what u need before ur quit day get the amino acid protocol mentioned here -immodium, l-tyrosine vallerian root,5htp i like the gatorades with the sayings on them like;no exuses and be tough just kind of motivational, lets not forget TIME,time heals all .run from pills (in days) like an abusive relationship,the further away you are the better off u will be ...you will see .im lighter,cleaner,dont weeze in bed.or freak out in the am when i wake up because of problems.and vision is better now...a couple weeks of dtx is well worth it....keep posting

I know it's only been three days and I haven't taking any vitamins or immodium. I'm on a regimine of clonidine and zoloft and the are terrible but the nights omg the nights are absolutly hellish. I'll take my Ativan and my ambien and still I'll just lie there with my arms and my legs tweaking out. They twitch an they feel like they have snake crawling up and down them any help? And how long will this process take for someone that was taking 6 norco's a day for 4 months?

OK. People are going to kill me for saying this, but here is what has worked for me in the past. My husband always has a little pot laying around. Two puffs and one of my ambien is enough to let me sleep. I detoxed once and still left 8 hours every night, but be careful with the marajuana. No legal and could be addictive as well, But, it has helped me in the past. My ambien doesn't work anymore either. this is night one for me, and I am scared.
I just got back from NA and I have to say it was better than I expected the people there have gone through what all of us are going through and one thing they said was take one day at a time. I thought it was cheesy but if you really look at things that way and don't focus on how guilty you feel for the past or how much work is ahead and live in the moment it will make each day easier. I mean I'm only on my third day and night and just that alone has made me feel better.
Day 3 is always hell. I detoxed every month when I ran out of my rx & by day 5 I was feeling more human. I always went back as my MD wrote me 240 a month. Sometimes when we stop the thing our body wants the most the other chemicals have an opposite effect. Since you're 3 days off of the opiates & the ambien makes you worse, try taking nothing. You won't be any worse! I tried lunesta on one of my attempts to detox & I felt like I was coming out of my skin. Try some calcium, bananas or potassium for the twitches & a hot bath or shower. This is the worst day. You'll be ok. Time is a great healer.
