Vicodin withdrawl / Subutex

So, im sure this has been posted before but i wanted to reach out and post my own topic. I have had a vicodin habit for the last 6 years. I was taking between 30 and 40 750mg tabs a day and then the last week i tapered down to 18 tabs a day. I just went to a 6 day detox inpatient program and took subutex for 4/5 days, it was a quick taper. So here i am at home on day 2 and wondering when my w/d's will begin to subside. I have no medications other than methocarbamol to take and its not helping much. I have tried the hot baths and showers which help tremendously but only for a short while. I am drinking lots of water and mananged a short walk. I still feel like poo poo. I have a supportive and loving wife and a 2 year old. I feel so guilty for not being able to spend time with him and cant be around him as i freak out anxioty wise when something happens. I have been taking vitamins as well. So tell me, when will i start feeling better? I thought i would feel fine now after the inpatient subutex program, but that is surely not the case.

Going through this whole ordeal my vision is really poor, i cant focus on anything within a foot of my face and also at times, far away. Is this normal for detox?

Thanks, I appreciate and need the encouragement. Feeling much better today but still only about 50% of normal which is way better than yesterday and way better than the day before that. Sleeping now is horrible, when will that start to get better? Again, thanks to everyone for the advice and kind words and i wish you the same.

Its a long struggle but hang in there! I started an out patient suboxone program and did suboxone for a week they gave me to much! 3-8mgs a day and it gave me headaches and stomach problems so i got subutex and feal great! But my insurance only covers 9 pills a months! So im working on a struggle also! Have you thought about a out patient program then tappering off yourself? If you were taking so much hydro (I) think that you should still be on it! I am not a doc but I was taking about the same w/ OC's and Perc's and I have no cravings at all! This is one of the hardest roads to take but hang in there and do what you think is right for your body and mind!! Good Luck and stay strong! DrewBoy7

u were at a high dose if i am reading that right...a week is the norm for hydro wd..mostly less..at 100 mgs a day i had the physical part for 4 days..back to work day 5...so u should be very close to feeling beter.plus the sub should still be hanging around in ur system due to the half life....can for about 72 hrs to lessen the wd....could be the mental part as well..sub helped u with the physical part and perhaps u r entering the post use depression and fatigue...all i can sy is get with ur dr and let him know ur needs such *** sleep, anxiety, fatigue etc....i was rx'd sumpin for nrg called provigil and it helped...can be abused tho but not as a norm..tyrosine also helps nrg and depression...and 5htp does too..read up on the aminos and MOVE..exercise will force endorphin production.....u may have a bit to go on the mental part..be sure u stick with ur aftercare plan

I took sub for 5 days and your correct that it isnt as bad as the others im sure. I did the inpatient for 6 days and now i am on day 2 of being home. It still seems like it shoulndt be this bad. Is there anything i can do to alleviate the w/d's? I probably should have stayed longer but it just wasnt possible

I hope you do not take sub for long. You take a lot of hyro but it's not nearly as bad as heroin or methadone WD and the worst thing about what you are doing is the massive doses of tylenol you liver has to take care of. I think going inpatient detox is good is that what you are doing? Why is this site so slow and poorly functioning/?all the best

I did the first day on 6mg / 3 tabs and then 3 days on 2 tabs and then one tab the last day. I am totally surprised as well. Although i did have a 6 year habit. I am just taking it one day at a time and if that doesnt work 10 minutes at a time. Its tough though. I got rid of all my pills, i told my wife to flush them as soon as i went in to the detox place and have no easy way to get pills. Thank goodness. Still wondering why i feel so crapy.

Hi and welcome to the community!

You detoxed with Sub for 4 days and now are experiencing withdrawal? Explain how much they gave you and when, etc. Maybe someone can explain how you are going through this. I am honestly surprised that you are this uncomfortable. The Sub should have gotten you through the rough patch at the start. Any further info will help for someone to guide you. Hang in there....
