I started using pain pills (hydros then oxys) about 2 years ago on a daily basis. I was once at 200 mg a day. I am only 31 and have recently moved away from everyone that was part of my habit.  I HAVE AN ADDICTION.  It has been 4 days since I took a 30mg oxy. I have had very small amounts of diluahded to help with withdraws but it is now gone. I also have some atavan that really seems to be helping with the anxiety. Any advice on what else I can do. I am so very done with this. I was going to go to a suboxone dr on the 10th but I honestly feel like it would be trading one addiction for another. And well I deserve better and so does my family. I am not going to lie and say I don't want the pills at all. But I can honestly say the craving is not nearly as bad as it was last week or the month before. I look at my children and know they deserve me all of me.  I guess I just need a outlet to talk about this as I go through it. I went today and bought a body cleanse,,,,,,, anyone ever done that while detoxing and does it help? My thought is I rreally just want to get all that **** out of my body.

You are SO close to feeling better!  For me, I noticed improvement at day 5.  I detoxed myself from oxyies, fentanyl, and norco.  It was hell, but SO WORTH IT!  Please don't give up because you'll only extend the withdrawal and you are within reach of feeling clear, awake, healthy, and almost normal again.
The Thomas Recipe was very helpful for me.   Everyone on this website was great.  Keep posting if you need answers.

My advice is take the Ativan to get some sleep, if possible.  Don't substitute the Subs - you will probably regret it.  Body cleanses will not really help at this point - you have to go through the withdrawal symptoms becuase your brain is looking for the pain substance you were taking and flipping out bc it's not there anymore.  Give your brain time to re-learn functioning without the pain meds.  You are very close!  Anyway, muscle relaxants and benzos are helpful in the beginning.  The sleepless nights and anxiety can be bad.
I can't imagine detoxing with kids in the house.  I do not have any kids and I'm glad for that!  You are doing the right thing.  You will be so glad and proud of yourself very soon!

U got some really good advice.above...and your right, switching to suboxone would be trading one drug for another. The w/d off the opiates is.quicker than the subs. 4-5 days opiates, 3 weeks minimum for subs. Bite the bullet, and just w/d NOW off the opiates. I did the subs (6 yrs) and it was hell. But from what I hear, it doesn't take but a couple of weeks to be addicted to the subs and have the same, long w/d. Get the vitamins, the vit c crystals, gaba 750, immodium, gatorade, and do it. Do u have anyone that can help u, spouse, sibling, etc??? Good luck and keep posting, and when your feeling like ****....post!

You have to give yourself a good week to 2 weeks to get over the crappy withdrawls ... Can you play the Flu sick card maybe? I understand I have a little one to take care of too and I had to work full time without mising a day. Its hrad but doable.... Check out the Thomas Receipe at the bottom of the page. It has many helpful items to get to make wd's more comfortable.
YOU CAN DO THIS!!!! I promise you!

Thank you. Me not having a pill in 4 days is alot more then I expected 4 days ago. I am hoping I can do it. I have three children and it is so hard to not be able to do for them . But because of them and my health is why I know this must be done. I want it to be done. The sooner I can be over it and never look back the happier I will  be.  But the pills are not around I can not just go get them. SO this is the perfect opportunity. And you are right suboxone is not the way I want to go.  I am ready to kick this. Just have to get through the ****** part of it. THank you for the advice.

Hi and Welcome to the Forum .... You will get responses from some really AMAZING people on this site, and do what I did and take thier advice and hold on dearly to it. Detox and Staying Clean in tough but well worth being a salve to pills. Please do NOT go on Suboxone it is way worse to come off! It stays in our bodies so much longer then fast actig opiates like Oxys.
If I were you I would not take any type of opiate to help with withdrawls as this will just make the process for you longer.

Keep posting and stay strong you CAN DO THIS!
