Ask all your friends who they use and if they're good or bad. Also I think there's a number in the phone book for physicians referral or something. I have ins., not good ins., but better than none. But I have to go to who's on their list. Ask your chiro, dentist, etc. Anyone you can think of. The more the merrier. You'll have more to choose from.
I have one... it doesn't do my neck though.. mainly for the back.. I get deep tissue massage every other week.. if I don't I can't move at all.. I see her tonight at 6...
I need to figure out how to choose a doc?? Any suggestions?? I need a regular doc.. and one that will hopefully help me with this as well... like prescribe PT and muscle relaxants and NSAI's... I have never had to do this before.. haven't really had insurance in a long time..
Sorry to hear about the chiro news. You are way too young to be having all those problems. I hope his treatment plan will help you. And it's good he's worked out a payment plan. My ins. doesn't cover the chiro so I rarely go. But it really helps me when I do get to to to him. I know this won't help your neck, but have you tried one of those chair pads that they're selling in WG's? I'm asking my kids for that at Christmas. It massages your back and feels sooooo good. Hey that might help your back, but you can probably get hubby to give you a massage!
Love ya,
Yoda
I agree with you... you gotta go with your gut on these things...
Same with my guy too. Even the nuerosurgeon I see (Oh, I have a slew of doctors!) has told me he's sent people to my chiro, and never seen them again (which I've never heard an MD recommend a chiro...)
It's tough to know, but if you trust this guy, I think that is a HUGE part of it... and everything he's saying sounds right (at least according to my guy!) :-P
Good luck, girl..
Luckily I have a laptop... so I don't really lean over per say... but I know what you mean.. it can't help..
I think my job is the main cause of this getting to the stage it is at.. I know its from really bad whip lash and a concussion I had in 98.. He said by the X ray that this is not a new thing,,, its been there for years getting worse...
Thanks for the support..
second and third opinions are worth a lot.
definately dont assume the first opinion is the only option.
Fladdic, I have the same thing.. my chiro calls it Forward Head Posture... I saw my exrays and it's a mess... mine goes the opposite it should too.
Anyway, my guy says its one of the biggest causes for dis-ease that he sees. Very common ... (Leaning over this keyboard I know doesn't help, either..)
Good luck, sister.. the good news is it can change..
Well this is my second opinion.. I went to someone else for 2 years with no progress.. and apparently I find out today he was using the opposite traction he should have been... and it not even certified to do it.. Who knows he may have made it worse trying to do something that my neck couldn't do...I trust this new guy... Since he is out of my insurance network he made a payment plan for me.. that isn't much more than what my deductable would be.. it may work out to be less.. So I am giving it a shot.. I have to try something.. I can't be 26 and looking for a new career when I have been doing mine for 8 years and make great money..
