Been at the doctor's office since 9:00 a.m.Just got home at 3:45.Well he gave me one pill every hour to determine my dosing and so it would take away withdrawl's.And oh my god.I don't have any withdrawl's what so ever. When I went into his office I was feeling like I was going to die. You guy's told me to write you and let you know what my dose was. I take a total of 24mgs a day. Three times a day. Is that a pretty high dose? I think it is. Any way Right now I feel like I'm in another world right now. Started falling asleep while driving home on the way back from doc's office. I guess it will take awhile for my body to get used to this drug. It's funny to.I take a new nartoic to withdrawl from another nartoic.....Well everybody hang  in there.

hey .. good for you on being able to get on the suboxone. i've been taking it since april 2007 at 24mg for 3 mos. down to 20mg and have been there for 5months ... next month i will go down to 16mg and not sure how long i'll be on that dose .. anyways, my first day i wz subscribed only 16mgs .. but i had to take only 4mgs every 45min until i felt normal by drs advice ... i went home @ 16mgs but as the day wore on, several hours later i was still feelin like i wz in w/d and felt just about the same as i had gotten there that morning to begin with.... i couldn't stand it .. i really was tempted to get some vics, since the suboxone didn't seem to help .. i called the dr and he had upped me anohter 8mg, which is now 24mg...couple of hrs at that dose, i felt fine ... i couldn't imagine not starting out at 24mg, i wouldn't of lasted doing a short term program w/them .. no way! .. i
know myself and i would of caved for sure .. i've needed the longer term on these for sure....it's  helped me learn more about my triggers, getting my body used to this and undue alot of things that i had been doing for almost 10yrs, everything wz based around getting my pills ... didn't start out that way but eventually it got there ... you all know, can't go thru a day's event or a family event w/out your pills ... always had to make sure i had enough .. so, suboxone has worked in so many ways .. but i know now, i'm ready to start tapering .. for about the last week and a half i've only been taking 16mgs and seemed to be getting by okay ... i'm also prescribed suboxone for pain ... so there have been times i 've taken all 20mgs ... just wanted to give my version of how i was dosed the first time and since ... good luck to you!!! hope you can find a dose that helps you make it thru the day w/out being uncomfortable ... peace~

WOW! 24 MGS IS HIGH. I TAKE 12 MGS A DAY AND AM FINE.  iF YOU WERE FALLING ASLEEP WHILE DRIVING HOME, THEN EVEN YOUR BODY IS TELLING YOU THAT IS TOO MUCH.   YOU KINDA HAVE TO TWEAK IT ALITTLE WHEN YOU FIRST START UNTIL YOU GET TO JUST THE RIGHT DOSE. AND YES YOU CERTAINLY CAN BREAK THEM IN HALF OR QUARTERS.  i GOT ON SUBOXONE ON THE 27 OF SEPT. AND HAVE HAD NO CRAVINGS WHATSOEVER.  BEST OF LUCK!

Yes, you can split them.  I did.  I took 4mg morning and 4mg.evening.  If you can get by with less than 24mg. i would, if i were you.  You can always take a little more if you get antsy.  When i first started on sub. i was given 2 extra pills that were 2 mg.  i needed to take them the first 2 days and then 8mg was fine for me.

I was talking about 30 or more norco's a day. And some percote,tyenol #3, vicidion es, vicidon 5/500.And yes it 24 mg a day at 8mg a piece . Can you split the suboxone in half or do you have't to take all of it. I called the nurse because I was confused of when my next dose was. She said I was done for today, but 2-moorow if I was to she said that I coulkd take all 3 8mg doses if I wanted to?Does that sound right.

Yeah 24 is a high dose from what I've heard. I started today, too..and I took 16 and am fine. I'm gonna try 12 or so tomorrow. Just try lowering tomorrow and find your best dose. It may be 24..or could be lower. Take small doses and take them every couple of hours. Remember..lower the initial doses the quicker you'll be off and the easier the taper. What's your taper plan? 3 weeks or less is best? Have you seen FLaddicts profile page and her Sub FAQ's? Must read!!

Ok you are taking 24mgs total a day right?? Not 24mgs 3 times a day... cause it that is true that is really high... its ineffective over 32mgs..which is the highest dose prescribed.
It should not have you that sedated if you felt like nodding off.. If that continues tomorrow I would call your doctor. I am surprised they let you drive yourself. I had to bring a driver when i started.  I can't imagine being on that dose.. I started on 6mgs and I was super sleepy for 2 days. And someone else I know started today as well and started on 16mgs.

I could take that much every day but found that I didn't need it.  You may want to try 4mg tomorrow at your first dose and see how you do - you may find that you can get by with less and get off it faster.  My doc had me take it three times a day for a week and now I only take it as needed for pain, 2mg when I need some and that is about every 3 days.  Let us know how you do - i am so glad you are feeling so much better.

Tell me what drug were you on before and how many a day?  24 mg of sub is alot.  8 mg. had my head spinning my first day.  I know it is such a relief to not be in wd.  I wish you all the best.  What is this dr. plan for you.  How long on 24 and then when do you taper?  Keep posting. TJack
