Reasonable Taper Plan? will it Hurt?

I have put my taper plan in motion. Starting today, I've moved from 30mg oxy to 25 mg.... That's 5/10/10... On advise from this forum, i am not going to try to go too fast.. Just drop 5mg every 7 days. I have flushed every pill in the stash except for the 52 I need for the taper. I took pictures of my grandsons in with me, taped them to the bathtub, said a couple of affirmations and quick threw them in, two bottles full at a time. I was really shaking bad. I had 6 bottles of both 15s and 10s. All gone. It's been almost 24 hours and I am not yet regretting the flush. I want my marriage back!
.My last day is set for march 12.
Question--- at what point do you think I might be getting sick? I planned each step down for a thursday b/c hubby works weekends and i figure if I am sick on weekends i can just take an extra klonopin that I have for restless leg syndrome to help me get extra sleep. But do you think I will be physically ill with this plan?
Also on the advise of this forum, I am going to the next NA meeting i can find. How does one find these? Since they are anonymous, I presume they are not listed on the internet?
Finally, I do have an appt that was already scheduled with my pain doctor for march 4th. The real test will be taking those last few pills in to show her I have tapered and let her know I don't need any more prescriptions. Not sure how that will go. But one day at a time, right?
Thanks for the support and kind words. You all are wonderful people.

Hi  tapering can be tuff slow and steady wins the game here you seem to have a solid plan just know no mater how you do this you will experience times of withdrawal a little shaky another sign is repetitive yawning and having a hard time sleeping the key her is to prepare your self for the discomfort I often say ...''you just got to be ok without being ok for a wile'' keep posting for support. good luck and God bless....................................Gnarly.......................................

I am also tapering. So far it is going pretty well. Only reason I don't say great is because I tapered off my OxyContin too fast this week and ended up in the ER. I am better now and was able to stay on my tapered dose once they got my pain under control and gave me meds for my intestines which decided to stop working due to tapering too fast.  As far as withdrawals I haven't had many really. The ER visit this week was unusual and partially due to my celiac disease on top of the taper.
Keep in touch with your body and make sure you listen to it. If your pain starts to get too bad to handle then take something. Don't wait. Like I said the taper has been easy for me and really great. My kids and husband see a big difference in me.
The doctors office thing was actually not that hard. I was also nervous to tell her I wanted to taper but she was wonderfully supportive.
Also if someone can give you your meds every day that will make it SO much easier. When you know all you have for that day is what you have you won't be tempted to over take them.
I'm here for you. Good luck, be careful, call your doctor if you need anything and you CAN do this!!!

It sounds pretty good but I'd go slower...everything else sounds just perfect. Don't even think about the Dr. Appt!  Just live in TODAY!

As far as withdrawals...it's anyone's guess how you'll feel but I doubt it will be bad. I'm a huge fan of tapering and I'll try to help however I can. One thing: We aren't allowed to provide taper plans on this forum or get very specific talking about it and I'm not sure you'll post will even remain here...We'll see.

You're doing great right now and were here so stay close!
