Fiorinal use

Bev
Dear Dr. Adelman,
I have been using Fiorinal C1/2 for migraines and tension headaches.  Since I went off the birth control pill my migraines are fewer and less severe but I still have a lot of tension headaches.  I have tried other prescription medications for them but nothing else works as well as the fiorinal do.  I get a prescription for 60 caplets approximately every 45-60 days, I have to take 2-6 caplets per day when I get a headache which is usually about 3 days per week.  Am I taking too many?

Bev, a word about Fiorinal/Codiene. It's as potent a Class III med as any I have encountered. And I assure you I have encountered them all. It's codeine with a barbiturate for god's sake. Try harder to find an alternative or you will, or may already have, a date with the detox ward. Just take care.

No your not taking to many, I used to take 4 fiorinal #3  a day for pain, fiorinal is a babiturate so dont be surprised if some people tell you that they are addictiv and what not,
I never had any problems with them, and I think they are a very good med.
